Just a quickie since I have so much work and crap to do. I agreed to so the class website, and have been getting a bunch of emails about it, so tonight I have to do some heavy duty HTML coding. We lost our (Grafton) electricity last night. It's amazing how hopeless I felt. I kept coming up with things to do, like go watch TV, since I couldn't work, then realize, no, that requires electricity. It's deadly quiet here and dark without any electricity. Luckily, I'm a girl and keep scented candles on hand for emergencies like this.

Being in vet school you get a lot of strange questions. The one I have gotten most frequently is: How do you collect sperm from males (for artificial insemination)? Luckily, even though this is only my first year, I have already had about 2 hours of lecture on the subject and feel I can answer this question with some intelligence. However, the technique is kind of graphic, and explaining it to lay people, ie my uncle, makes me squirm. I won't go into details here, but for those of you curious, it requires plastic gloves, lots of lube, a cup, and a hard hat. And maybe a female dummy.
