Dreams
Alright, just a quick post due to procrastination. My housemate's dog is asleep next to me and he's twitching. You may be thinking seizure?, but you'd be wrong. Dogs dream too (and cats, but we'll stick to dogs here), when they are really relaxed and fall into the REM cycle. Well, I think they do. Willy even barks in his sleep and sometimes his limbs move too. So, what do dogs dream about? All this is up to spectulation. Maybe they have really boring dreams like I do that include repeating the days events. Being in class and grocery shopping for me and laying around or playing with toys. (Note: this is one of the rare revelations of who I actually am. I have extremely boring dreams.) Or maybe they have crazy dreams, like flying or evil monkeys or being human. I doubt this though. I don't think dogs are that imaginative. I like to think they dream about chasing squirrels or the mailman. Not sure exactly why. The twitching and limb movement seem to imply chasing. Plus, I don't like to think that dogs have nightmares. That would be sad. What are your thoughts?

I've only seen one of our cats (the oldest and most intelligent) doing the seizure/dream thing. It's kinda scary looking... So I like to think that he is having happy dreams about running and jumping in tall grass on a sunny day, cos I agree it is too sad to imagine they dream about being chased or something worse.
Maybe, since they don't have the same cognitive ability as us, they have intense smells and feelings in their dreams. That would be cool. So maybe Poppins dreams about the aroma of ham, and lying in sunny spots.
Sorry, tried to post this earlier, but my internet died. My dog, who is still barely alive, chases balls in her sleep. She does it more frequently now that she is really old. I'm pretty sure it's not a nightmare, because sometimes her tail wags a bit. But she's definitely running, because her legs move and sometimes just her paws. I think my cat dreams, too. I don't know if my fish do, but they do curl up in a ball on the bottom of their tank and sleep at night. Anyhow.
