I am fortune's fool

I forgot what I was going blog about. I've been unproductive lately. However, I cleaned my place tonight and now productivity can commence. I had my second test this morning, classes all day. Tomorrow is clin skills day so I'll probably post good stuff tomorrow about jamming a 6in long needle into the chest of a sow (big pig). Then on my list of plans is grocery shopping and maybe a quick trip to the mall... but might save that until Friday. Except for groceries.

Funny thing that happened in class: one of our professors is old school and uses the slide projector instead of a powerpoint. Well, the damn remote for the thing broke and someone had to change them by hand. So, the first picture is all out of focus and the prof asks for it to be focused. As the guy is focusing, he's giving him direction saying "Coming...coming...coming..." getting quick and more excited as it becomes clearer. Then says "Ah, that was great, thanks." Giggles start among the class and I have to stifle my self from laughing out loud but turn very red anyway. What makes it really funny is that this prof is like a dirty old man who makes jokes and gets in trouble with the administration about being improper. He didn't make any reaction to the giggling though. Yea, you had to be there and feel slappy, but it was funny to us dirty minds in the class. My other prof is really strange and laughs at her own jokes which makes the class laugh at her and she thinks she made a really funny joke. Sometimes class is entertaining.

Oh, now I remember. In high school, I thought that I would never be out of touch with music and decided that VH1 was for older people cuz they only play like the top 15 hits over and over again. And I guess I have become old, cuz I love VH1. Considering I only watch about 2 hours of tv a day, it's not very repetitive to me. And I certainly love top 40 music. However, I do also love alternative, but WFNX just doesn't reach this far and it's very repetitive too. I have broadened my horizons with two new radio stations though.

I think it's funny that M2 (the MTV spin off) was "just music" but now it's all tvs shows now. MTV only plays music videos from like 4am to 9am. Then crappy, yet soooo addicting, programs. Ah, laguna. It sucked me in again this week. Alex should hate the play but the player. Anyway, I think too much about tv. I think I'm going to go watch some and then read neuro/mus until I crash. That 11pm bedtime thing flew out the window. I have high hopes for tomorrow though, if only I can manage not to nap. Damn lectures getting in the way of my ideal sleep cycle. Bah. Emergency medicine it is for me.

haha, your plans sound just like mine - grocery shopping and trying to fit in a trip to the mall.

Also, I am totally old when it comes to music. The last album I got, I did so because I felt like I was being too old and stagnant and hadn't bought anything new in too long. I don't listen to the radio either which means I basically get no exposure to new music... Yeah, I'm a dinosaur.

Hahaha, projection story made me laugh. Today in my class (this isn't quite as good a story), we were talking about nicotinic acid (=niacin/Vit B12 or B3) limiting the expression of an adherence gene in yeast and how the yeast can colonize catheters and cause UTI. So, this kid says he's heard that drinking prune juice can help prevent UTIs, so maybe there's a lot of niacin in prune juice. At this point, we have to point out to him that it's cranberry juice, and that prune juice is used for something else. Then after we finished laughing about it, one of the profs finally got it and told us all why it was funny. So we had to laugh politely again, because he's slow. But anyway, that's my story.
