The ER

Well, I suppose you are all waiting with bated breath to hear what happened to me at the ER. First, let me take this opportunity to thank those who posted a comment to the "cheap" post. It made me hungry and happy :) Anyways, my hand started to get hot and hurt a lot. See post below if you are lost. I called my doc and she said to go to the ER. Yay. Instead of the scary, crappy, disgusting hospitals in Worcester, I went to the hospital in Hicksville, which I found most pleasant. Upton is a nice town, I could live there. So, after waiting 30min (not bad comparing to the 2.5 hours I usually spend waiting) i see the doc and need to have an xray, a tetanus shot, and IV antibiotics. Fun. Not sure why on the xray but i guess its a hematoma and not spores were found in it, so I'm not infective. Of course, I had to explain 5 times what happened and they made jokes about the sheep "Watch out for those sheep, how was the sheep?, etc" because my pride just wasn't low enough. The doc even said that this was a first and she never treated anyone for this. I figured that they saw crap like this every night. At least I wasn't in there for anthrax, which you can get from sheep wool, I'd be placed in lock down. So, after struggling with the IV, 1.5 hours later I had drugs on board and was ready to leave. Since the whole things lasted 5 hours, i asked for a note to get out of my exam tomorrow AM, since i have to return for more drugs then anyway. Yup, fun. So, now i get to sleep tonight. Much better than taking my test with an IV in my right arm and me left hand all bruised and puffy. Wonder when I'll have to re-shcd it for... back to studying anyway and wishing I could knit :( I'm having withdrawals...
