Luck?

Ah, it's been a while. Spring break was good. I went home and worked a lot. Didn't nearly get all the stuff I wanted to get done done nor did I relax enough, as usual. But work was good, and got to do neat stuff and actually apply some of the things I'm learning in school. Let's see, new stuff. I won two radio contests this week - FNX for tickets to "Motion City Soundtrack" and WBCN for "Drop Kick Murphys." Tomorrow, I am going to buy a lottery ticket to see if me luck continues. Both times I just had just turned the radio on, grabbed my cell, and called. For the BCN contest, I was actually on the air. The jockey made fun of my pubescent voice and my apparent teenage vernacular when excited... But oh well. I look sixteen, I sound sixteen, and after watching an episode of TLC's "What not to Wear" I dress like I'm sixteen too. Bah. Hopefully, when I wear a white coat people take me seriously.

I worked in the ICU last night, which was good. Much busier than last time and I got to take a history and actually interact with clients. Lots of sick dogs. Tomorrow is farm day and I hope it's not too cold. We are going to electoejaculate some bulls and I am finally going to draw blood from a mad, screaming pig. Unless I pass out first.

Interesting lecture yesterday. I love lectures from the ambulatory vets (read large animal vets). They are down-to-earth and very personable. He told us about his royal fuck ups and how he almost killed a few cows and got back at a farmer. I don't think any other lecture has told us about personal fuck-ups. It's humbling and reassuring that no one is perfect.

St Pat's weekend is going to be excellent. Good times will be had :) Also, planning a trip to a dairy symposium in upper state NY. And my itinerary was released for my trip to St. Louis. So many good things to look forward too, that I can't possibly study!

It's my birthday today :)
