Mind diarrhea

This is going to be a nice, long post, but I will use paragraphs, so bear with me. Plus pictures, if I can find my card reader.

So, first up - last week I acted as anesthesiologist for my spay partner and the next day spayed my dog. It was a good experience. My dog did very well, she is super cute and needs a home :( I was the last one to start the surgery and the first one to finish. I think it took me about 3 hours. I was a bit nervous right before I started scrubbing, but was fine after. See pics below of me looking professional.

I live my laptop. I bring it to class. The internet connection is amazing on campus. 1.5MB/sec, makes me wish napster was free and illegal like in high school. My sister IMed me in class and I forgot to turn my speakers off beforehand, so the little AIM noise was very loud and someone in the back mocked me. I was embarrassed.

Again, I'm going to make a fine wife someday. I had a few people over thursday. I made apple pie the night before (gotta use up the apples from apple picking the weekend before). And I had cheese/crackers, apples and dip, made gourmet pizza, and then pie and ice cream. I'm skill honing my skills. I love cooking and love having people over and entertaining. My fav is baking. So therapeutic. And I'm not burning stuff like I used to. Next up is banana bread, which I'm going to freeze.

I went home this weekend to work. Work was good. After work, I took Storm for a nice walk by the pond. She gets so excited. See a pic of her below. Next weekend, I'm working again and plan on taking her to the beach. She'd love it and I never got to the beach this summer. The beach is best in the spring and fall.

I have a soft spot for movies set in New England. I rented "In the bedroom." It was kinda depressing, but good otherwise. I love the Maine accent. The movie really was just like Mystic River, except set in Maine rather than Boston. Other movies like that: Good Will Hunting, the Perfect Storm. i have to see "The departed" with Matt Damon, Dicarprio, wallberg, and lots of good older actors, plus it's set in Boston and we'll see how well they can pull off the accent.

What the fuck is with carrot top? I remember when he was funny and young. Now he's on steroids, is huge, and wears heavy eyeliner. I saw him on TV a couple times recently. He's not funny anymore, just kinda scary.

I bought awesome boots over the weekend. Brown suede, high heels. While not true fuck me boots, they are more everyday boots. However, I plan to return to DSW and get proper black leather fuck me boots - stiletto high heels and pointy toes. Sexy :)

Lastly, I'm knitting again. I finished an alpaca ski fair isle hat for myself and will post pics when I sew it together. I started Jennie's wristlets finally, and will probably finish them by the end of the week. I have to re-learn how to do the thumb business again. On my to do list for knitting is an aran mitten/hat/maybe scarf set for me, an xmas stocking, maybe a knit purse for me, and eventually a uterus :) Next time i buy yarn, I'll get the uterus yarn too. Requests?

And a list. Things that make me happy:
-Autopay for all my bills
-Going to see good local bands and trips to Boston
-Apples
-Sunny days
-Flip flops in September
-Turning the heat on in my car, mmm, warm and toasty
-The return of cool weather
-Foliage

Though "The Departed" truly does look great, I can't imagine Leo will be able to pull off the accent .. hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised!
